What you will need:
A guide on how to pot an artificial plant
Step 1:
Upon acquiring your artificial plant, it is of utmost importance to measure its protective pot. This will then necessitate the purchase of a larger decorative pot. Along with this to purchase which of the decorative aggregates and toppings you’d like to finish off the pot with. We sell a number of indoor plant pots online for the our range of artificial plants. Alternatively you can acquire pots from garden centres along with the listed materials. It is important to take heed that if you opt for a natural grass pot, filling it with soil is not advised. This being as the soil will lead to the pot’s degradation in the long run.
Step 2:
Place sheets of newspaper or a dust sheet onto the floor or table where you are potting up the plant. Doing this will help to keep your work surface clean. If you have selected a shallow pot, you can directly place the artificial house plant with its plastic pot into it. If you have gone for a substantially deeper decorative pot you will need to place stones or a large amount of the soil into it first. This helps to raise the height that the plant will sit once placed inside the decorative pot.
Step 3:
Now your artificial house plant is placed inside your pot it is time to secure it in place. To do this fill down the sides, between the two pots with soil. Doing this will ensure your faux plant does not move around in the pot. Now you have completed this step you can shovel some small amounts of soil on top of the faux plant. This will create a level surface, hiding the concrete base of the faux plant and it’s protective pot.
Step 4:
It is now time to add the finishing touches to your potted plant. Using the any of the above popular decorative aggregate choices to finish off the look. If you have purchased the slate or pebbles you will need to wash them to remove the dust and dirt. Soak in a bucket of warm water for an hour, move them around to help remove the dirt from them. Next, remove the decorative aggregates. To dry them, you can use either a towel or newspaper. Now they are thoroughly dry, utilise them to cover the soil surface to attain the desired aesthetic. If you are using dried moss place the dried moss straight onto the soil, to get your desired look.
Your beautiful artificial house plant is now complete in its gorgeous decorative pot ready to position in your home. A popular trend is to have small clusters of potted plants around the house in pairs or threes. Repeat the potting process to grow your range of stunning artificial house plants, providing you with the perfect low maintenance look.
