Our aluminium balustrade rail kit contains everything you need for the rail sections of your balustrade — the horizontal part of the system that spans between your posts. Each kit includes the top and bottom rails (with vinyl inserts), pickets, spacers, top and bottom brackets, a rail support foot, and stainless steel screws and fixings.
The rails come in a standard 1829mm length — the only length supplied — and are designed to span up to the maximum 1829mm post spacing. Rails can be cut down easily on site to fit shorter gaps between posts, so you get an even, tidy finish whatever your layout. You'll need one rail kit per bay (the gap between two posts).
Everything is finished in black powder-coated aluminium — rust-free, low-maintenance and built to handle UK weather year-round without the upkeep of timber or steel.
Posts are sold separately, so you can order exactly the number your layout needs alongside your rail kits.

Yes. Use a hacksaw or metal-cutting saw.
Cut both ends evenly to ensure symmetrical picket spacing. Always measure carefully and wear protective gear when cutting.
The maximum spacing between posts is 1829mm (72"). This is the longest internal span your aluminium rail is designed to support.
However, you can cut the rails down to fit shorter gaps if needed. Always cut equal amounts from both ends to maintain balanced picket spacing.
Tip: Cut rails approximately 3.5mm shorter than the post-to-post gap to allow for bracket clearance.

Our aluminium balustrade is designed and tested in line with BS 6180:2011, the British Standard for barriers in and around buildings — so you can install it with confidence around domestic decking, patios, balconies and stairs.
It's designed and tested in line with BS 6180:2011, the British Standard referenced for barriers under Approved Document K. It's load-tested and certified for domestic single-family use (0.36 kN/m). For communal, commercial or public areas, higher load classes apply — speak to us or your building designer first.
The finished guarding height is 1100 mm, and pickets are spaced at 96.5 mm so a 100 mm sphere cannot pass through — meeting the gap requirement for domestic guarding.
