Our aluminium balustrade gate is a complete, self-contained access gate designed to match the rest of the balustrade system. Finished in black powder-coated aluminium, it gives you a secure, rust-free gate that blends seamlessly into your run — ideal for creating an access point onto decking, a patio, a balcony or into a garden.
The gate is 1168mm wide overall and comes as a full kit, including its own frame, pickets, hinges and latch — everything you need to hang and secure it. It has its own small built-in posts that carry the hinges and latch, but still hangs between two of your main balustrade posts, just like a rail section. When planning your layout, allow roughly 1190mm for the gate opening between posts — the gate plus a small clearance each side so it swings and latches freely.

The gate is 1168mm wide overall and is a complete, self-contained unit. When planning your layout, allow roughly 1190mm for the gate opening between posts — the gate itself plus a small clearance each side for the hinges and latch to operate.
Yes — the gate is supplied as a complete kit including its own frame, pickets, hinges and latch, so everything you need to hang and secure it is included.
The gate has its own small built-in posts that carry the hinges and latch, but it still hangs between two of your main balustrade posts — the same posts a rail section connects to. So you'll need a main post on each side of the gate opening as part of your run.
Allow approximately 1190mm between your main posts for the gate — that's the 1168mm gate plus around 10mm clearance on each side so it swings and latches freely. If you're unsure how the gate fits into your layout, use our quote form and we'll confirm it with you.

Our aluminium balustrade is designed and tested in line with BS 6180:2011,
the British Standard for barriers in and around buildings — so you can install it with confidence
around domestic decking, patios, balconies and stairs.
Tested to BS 6180:2011 — load-tested and certified for domestic (single-family) use, resisting a horizontal load of 0.36 kN/m (test report AR210)
1100 mm guarding height — meets the standard for domestic guarding
100 mm sphere rule — pickets at 96.5 mm spacing, so a 100 mm sphere cannot pass through
Corrosion-resistant — aluminium alloy 6005 with a batch-tested powder-coat finish (RAL 9017 matt black)

Is this balustrade compliant with UK building regulations?
It's designed and tested in line with BS 6180:2011, the British Standard referenced for barriers under Approved Document K. It's load-tested and certified for domestic single-family use (0.36 kN/m). For communal, commercial or public areas, higher load classes apply — speak to us or your building designer first.
How high is the balustrade, and is the gap child-safe?
The finished guarding height is 1100 mm, and pickets are spaced at 96.5 mm so a 100 mm sphere cannot pass through — meeting the gap requirement for domestic guarding.
