17.5mm Laminated Glass Panels - Stock Sizes

Description

17.5mm clear toughened laminated glass panels in stock sizes, 1087mm high in seven widths. Because these are standard sizes rather than cut to order, they are dispatched in around 7 working days instead of the 3–4 weeks a made-to-measure pane takes.

Laminated glass is the choice for frameless glass balustrades around patios, decking, balconies and terraces, where the glass itself forms the guard.

Which systems does it suit?

17.5mm laminated panels are for frameless glass balustrades, held in a base channel or on spigots, with or without a handrail on top. Use the thickness your channel or spigot system is designed for; we also stock 21.5mm laminated.

These panels are not for our semi-frameless or post & handrail systems. Those clamps take 10mm glass only.

Which width do I need?

Width is set by your spigot or channel layout and the gaps your system needs between panels. If you are unsure, send us your measurements and we will set the run out for you and tell you which widths to order.

The glass

Every panel is two sheets of clear toughened glass bonded with a PVB interlayer, 17.5mm thick overall, with polished edges and dubbed corners. If one sheet breaks, the interlayer holds the broken glass in place and the panel stays in position.

Panels are delivered on a pallet with the date arranged in advance. Laminated glass is heavy (a 1000mm panel weighs around 48kg), so please have someone available to help offload.

Choose Made to measure in the options above. Made-to-measure glass is priced per linear metre of run, rounded up to the next whole metre. Order the number of metres and send us your panel sizes, or send us your measurements and we will work them out for you. Made-to-measure panes take 3–4 weeks and are non-returnable unless faulty, so it is worth checking whether a stock size fits your run first.

FAQs

• Can I cut these panels down?

  No. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or worked after manufacture - any attempt will shatter the panel. If you need a different size it has to be made to that size from the start.

• How is it delivered?

  On a pallet, with the delivery date arranged in advance. Glass is heavy - a full balustrade order can run to several hundred kilograms - so please have someone available to help offload, and check the panels before signing.
