Order a complete wire balustrade kit by the linear metre — 316 marine-grade stainless steel posts, 3mm wire rope, swageless fittings and a matching 48.3mm stainless handrail, everything your run needs from one listing. Every component is the same marine-grade stainless steel, so the finished balustrade keeps its looks through UK weather, including coastal locations, with next to no maintenance.

Wire balustrade kits are designed for low-level settings with fall heights of 600mm and below — deck edges near ground level, garden terraces, patios and low steps where a full guarding barrier isn't required by building regulations. For balconies, raised decking or any drop above 600mm, our aluminium Build Your Own kit and glass balustrade systems are designed for that job instead.

What's in the Kit

Everything a complete run needs: start/end posts for each run, mid posts at 1.5m spacings, corner posts at changes of direction — all 48.3mm 316 stainless steel, arriving pre-assembled with welded base plates, saddles and eyebolts already fitted — plus 3mm 316 wire rope for 7 wires per run at 132mm centres, swageless turnbuckle and plain buckle connectors with locking collars for tool-free tensioning, and the 48.3mm stainless handrail tube for a finished height of 1100mm.

• How does per-metre ordering work?

  Measure the total length your balustrade needs to cover and order that many metres. After you order, we contact you to confirm the exact layout — how many of each post, where your corners fall, and your wire and handrail lengths — so the kit arrives matched to your project. • What comes in a wire balustrade kit?

  Posts (start/end, mid and corner as your layout needs, with saddles and eyebolts fitted), 3mm 316 stainless wire rope, swageless turnbuckle and plain buckle connectors, locking collars, and the 48.3mm stainless handrail tube. The posts arrive pre-assembled — saddles and eyebolts already fitted. Ground fixings aren't included, as the correct fixing depends on your surface (the bases fix to timber decking, concrete, metal and brick).

• Where can I install a wire balustrade kit?

  Wire kits are for low-level settings — fall heights of 600mm and below, where guarding isn't required by building regulations. For balconies or any drop above 600mm, choose our aluminium or glass balustrade ranges, which are designed for full guarding.

• Do I need special tools?

  No swaging tools — the connectors are all swageless. You'll need basic hand tools for fixing the posts down and wire cutters for trimming the rope to length; the turnbuckles tension each wire in minutes.
