    Description

The through post carries the wires along a straight run without interrupting them. It's drilled with 7 plain 6mm holes at 132mm centres — no eyebolts — so each wire passes straight through the post in one piece and carries on to the next termination. That keeps every run tidy and keeps the fittings count down: a straight run needs only one tensioner and one connector per wire, however many through posts sit along it.

It's a 48.3mm post in 316 marine-grade stainless steel with a welded 120mm base plate and an adjustable saddle for the handrail tube, giving a finished height of 1100mm. The welded base fixes to most surfaces, including timber decking, concrete, metal and brick — the correct fixings depend on your surface, so they're not included.

Use through posts between the start/end posts at a maximum of 1.5m spacings. Where the wire needs to stop and restart — at a change of direction, or either side of a gate — use the corner post or the mid post instead, both of which have eyebolts for terminating wire. Or order everything sized to your run with the Build Your Own wire balustrade kit.

Wire balustrade is designed for low-level settings with fall heights below 600mm — see the wire balustrade collection for the full range and suitability guidance.
