Funding for schools works differently from club football. The Football Foundation's grant streams are aimed primarily at clubs and community organisations with the right security of tenure, and a school typically needs to apply through an eligible community-use arrangement. More commonly, schools fund fencing through capital facilities budgets, multi-academy trust funds, Sport England-linked school sport programmes, or local authority routes.
Some football funding requires the facility to be available for community football in the evenings and weekends. If your site offers community use, more grant routes may open up — worth checking before you assume a school is ineligible.
