The entry-level Pro Pitch system. Three PVC rails create a clean, defined pitch boundary — no mesh infill, no ball retention, but a professional white PVC finish and zero maintenance at the most accessible price in the range. Ideal for community, junior and training ground applications.
Post & Rail has no mesh infill and does not satisfy the permanent infilled barrier requirement at FA Steps 1–6. It meets the absolute minimum at Step 7 only. For any club in competitive football above Step 7, or any rugby club aspiring to National League level, Single Mesh or Double Mesh is the correct specification. If you’re unsure which system you need, contact us and we’ll advise.
For clubs that simply need a clean, defined pitch boundary — without the cost of mesh infill — Post & Rail delivers exactly that. It replaces rotting timber post and rail, corroding steel fencing, or temporary orange hi-vis netting with a permanent white PVC system that requires no maintenance for 15 years. The installation method is identical to the mesh systems, and upgrading to Single or Double Mesh later requires only the addition of mesh panels to the existing posts and rails.
Exceeds post & rope minimum. Provides a defined, professional boundary at the lowest cost.
Clean, safe boundary for mini-soccer, under-7s to under-12s pitches. No sharp edges.
Defines the pitch boundary at county and community rugby level without a large capital outlay.
Separate training pitch boundaries where full ball retention is not required.
Define grassed areas and playground pitches at an entry-level cost.
Install Post & Rail now. Add mesh infill later when budget allows or promotion demands it.

Yes — this is one of the key advantages of the Pro Pitch system. The post and rail framework is shared across all three systems. If your club is promoted and needs to add mesh infill, or budget becomes available later, Single or Double Mesh panels can be retrofitted to existing posts and rails. Contact us to discuss the upgrade path for your installation.
Post & Rail is eligible for Football Foundation funding as it is a permanent, fixed pitch perimeter barrier. However, if your club is at Steps 1–6 and requires an infilled barrier to pass ground grading, a Post & Rail system alone will not meet that requirement. We recommend discussing your ground grading requirements with us before specifying the system for a grant application.
Significantly. Timber post and rail requires regular treatment, painting and replacement as it rots, warps and discolours. The Pro Pitch PVC system is maintenance-free for 15 years — no painting, no treatment, no rotting. The bright white finish does not fade or yellow. For any club replacing old timber fencing, the Pro Pitch Post & Rail is a significant upgrade in appearance and longevity at a comparable or lower whole-life cost.
Plastic hi-vis fencing is a temporary solution not considered suitable for permanent pitch perimeters at Steps 1–6. It degrades in UV, requires annual replacement, and is explicitly prohibited by the FA at Steps 1–4. Pro Pitch Post & Rail is a permanent installation with a 15-year warranty that looks professional and complies with relevant FA requirements for its applicable steps.
