Tell us your measurements and we’ll work out your posts, caps and glass, then add it all to your basket in one click. 304 stainless steel posts, black powder-coated, with 10mm toughened glass made to order for your exact space.
Measure each run outside-to-outside (the full length of the edge you want the balustrade to cover), in your chosen unit, and the calculator works out your posts, caps and glass with posts spaced evenly at a maximum of 1150 mm centres. All glass is made to order for your exact space: it’s charged by the linear metre of run, with your job total rounded up to the next whole metre, and before anything is cut we send you CAD drawings to confirm every measurement and pane size. Made-to-order glass takes 3–4 weeks and is non-returnable unless faulty. Inside a section, runs join at a shared post — a corner junction uses a corner post and a straight junction (for example a flat run continuing into a stair run) uses a mid post. Stair runs use the same posts and clamps as level runs; the stair glass is confirmed on your CAD drawings. Ground fixings and post caps: fixings aren’t included (the right anchor depends on your surface), and one post cap per post is added automatically.

Build your own semi-frameless glass balustrade kit in a sleek black finish — a modern glass balustrade system made to measure for decking, patios, balconies, terraces and garden boundaries. Configured step by step, you choose the posts, glass clamps and toughened glass panels to suit your project, so you only pay for the parts you need.
Each system is built around 304 black powder-coated stainless steel posts and 10mm clear toughened glass, cut to size for a clean, contemporary look. Coloured toughened glass (frosted, grey, green and bronze) is also available if you'd prefer something other than clear. Every glass balustrade kit is supplied with CAD drawings for your approval before anything is cut, so you can order with confidence.
Available in 978mm and 1100mm post heights, the system is fully compliant with UK Building Regulations Part K at 1100mm, giving you a safe, code-compliant outdoor glass balustrade without sacrificing the open, unobstructed view that makes glass railings so popular.
This is our semi-frameless system — posts with discreet glass clamps, which is more forgiving to install and more budget-friendly than a fully frameless design. If you want a completely post-free look, see our fully frameless glass balustrade range. Pairing your run with a matching glass balustrade gate kit completes the installation.

It is possible, but for a consistent appearance we recommend choosing one finish. Customers usually select black for a striking, modern statement and satin for a classic stainless look.
No. Glass is custom cut and non-returnable once manufactured. CAD drawings are always provided for approval before cutting.
Both systems use the same 978mm posts and 900mm glass panels from our Semi Frameless range, but they’re finished differently. The Post Handrail System use saddle fittings on top of the posts to support a stainless-steel tube, creating a continuous, easy-to-grip handrail (ideal for stairs and high-traffic areas). TheSemi Frameless option is topped with post caps for a glass-led look without a tube. For materials, satin components are 316 stainless steel, while black components are 304 stainless steel. Both configurations are designed to meetUK Building Regulations.
Absolutely. The combination of 978 mm posts, 900 mm high glass panels, and the saddle-mounted handrail tube ensures the system meets the height (1100mm) and load requirements of UK Building Regulations for domestic and most commercial applications.
Yes, the Post Handrail System is ideal for stair installations. We recommend using the Handrail Saddle Bracket with Adjustable Spigot, which allows the tube to be aligned at the correct angle to follow the slope of your stairs. This ensures a safe, smooth, and continuous handrail run.
Each saddle bracket is engineered to hold the 42.4 mm stainless steel tube firmly in place. Once the tube is cut to size and positioned on the saddles, it is fixed with screws for a secure installation. The result is a robust handrail that looks seamless and provides reliable support.
The satin stainless steel finish is low maintenance. We recommend periodic cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to remove dirt and contaminants. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads.
Installation is straightforward. Pre-drilled posts ensure accurate clamp positioning, and the system is designed for ease of assembly by competent DIYers or professional installers.
Yes. The Satin system is manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion and ideal for use in exposed or coastal environments.
Yes. Laminated glass can be supplied if required, and in some installations (such as certain balconies or commercial projects) laminated glass is essential to meet regulations.
No. As each panel is cut to order, glass is non-returnable once manufactured. To avoid errors, CAD drawings are provided for your approval before cutting.
Yes. Our semi-frameless glass balustrade kit is ideal for timber and composite decking, as well as patios, balconies and garden edges. The black powder-coated posts surface-mount to a solid, level deck. The system provides 1100mm guarding on its own — for anything safety-critical, confirm requirements with your builder or building control.
A semi-frameless system (this kit) uses posts with discreet glass clamps to hold the panels — it's more affordable, more forgiving to install and works on more surfaces. A fully frameless glass balustrade has no posts, relying on thicker structural glass for an almost invisible finish, at a higher price and with professional installation recommended. If you want the post-free look, see our fully frameless range.
Absolutely. The system suits balconies, terraces, raised patios and decking. At 1100mm finished height it's designed in line with BS 6180:2011; compliance for your specific project also depends on the setting and correct installation.
Yes — we offer a semi-frameless glass gate kit in matching black and satin finishes, so you can add a self-closing gate to your balustrade run with a consistent look. View our glass balustrade gate kit to add one to your project.
They're built differently. This semi-frameless system uses 1100mm posts with the glass running level to the post tops — a clean, glass-led look finished with post caps, no tube. The Post & Handrail system uses 978mm posts with saddles and a continuous 42.4mm stainless handrail tube on top, reaching the same 1100mm finished height with 900mm glass panels — the easy-to-grip rail makes it the pick for stairs and high-traffic areas. In both, black components are 304 powder-coated stainless steel and satin components are 316 marine grade, and both are designed in line with BS 6180:2011
