Side Fix Glass Balustrade Channel with Wedges — Black

Description

Our black side fix glass balustrade channel bolts to the face of a slab, deck or balcony edge rather than the top surface, so the glass rises past the edge with the walking surface left completely clear. It is the side mounted version of our frameless glass balustrade: laminated glass held along its full bottom edge, with no posts, spigots or clamps on show. Every length comes with the rubbers and wedges for your chosen glass thickness.

What is included

• Black powder-coated aluminium side fix channel, 2.5m or 5m long
• Rubbers and wedges to suit 17.5mm or 21.5mm glass: one pack with a 2.5m length, two packs with a 5m length

Not included: glass, fixing bolts, corners, end caps, connecting pins, cladding and the wedge tool. All are available separately.

Fixing details

• Fixing holes: 14mm diameter at 200mm centres, for 12mm diameter bolts. Fixing bolts are not included, as the right anchor depends on what you are fixing into.
• Fixing into: solid structural material at the edge — a concrete slab edge, a steel frame or, on decking, the structural frame behind the fascia rather than the fascia boards.
• Glazing: panels sit on rubbers and are locked in with wedges, four per metre, tightened with the wedge adjustment tool. A dry-glazed system, with no cement or resin.
• Joining: lengths join end to end with connecting pins, two per join.
• Corners and ends: separate internal and external side fix corners, and end caps for open ends.

Glass thickness

The channel takes 17.5mm or 21.5mm toughened laminated glass. Select the thickness you will be glazing with and we send the matching rubbers and wedges. Not sure which you need? Send us your measurements and we will confirm before you order.

Side fix or base fix?

Choose side fix where you want to keep every millimetre of a balcony or deck, or where the top surface cannot be drilled. Choose our base fix channel where the channel sits on top of the floor. Also available in Silver Anodised.

• How is the side fix channel fixed?

  It bolts to the face of the edge, not the top surface. • Are the rubbers and wedges included?

  Yes. Each 2.5m length comes with one pack of rubbers and wedges and each 5m length with two, matched to the glass thickness you select: 17.5mm or 21.5mm.

• How much channel do I need?

  The channel runs continuously along the full length of the balustrade — combine 2.5m and 5m lengths to complete your run most economically. Send your run length through the quote form or call 01282 526428 and we'll work out the lengths for you.

• Can I return it?

  Yes. Notify us by email within 28 days of delivery. Items must be unused, undamaged and in their original packaging, in perfect sellable condition, with the original invoice or packing slip, and return costs are the customer's responsibility. Refunds are made to your original payment method within 5–14 working days of inspection. Please report faulty or incorrect items as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, and we will replace or refund them at no charge. Custom-cut glass is made to order and is non-returnable.
