Adjustable Elbow (Black)

Description

The black adjustable elbow is an in-line pivot for the handrail itself. It joins two lengths of 42.4mm tube directly — no post mount involved — and its pivoting joint lets the rail change angle mid-run, which is exactly what happens at the top and bottom of a staircase or wherever a run turns at something other than a square corner. It is 304 stainless steel with a black powder-coated finish to match the black tube.

For true 90° corners a fixed end elbow bracket gives a cleaner result, and where the fitting needs to sit on a post rather than in the tube, the height-adjustable elbow bracket is the post-top equivalent.

It serves the Post & Handrail Glass Balustrade System in Black; a satin stainless steel version matches the uncoated 316 range.

• Where does the adjustable elbow fit in the run?

  In the tube itself. It connects two lengths of 42.4mm handrail directly, so it sits wherever the rail needs to change angle between posts — most commonly where a level run meets the top or bottom of a flight of stairs.

• What is the difference between this and the height-adjustable elbow bracket?

  This is an in-line tube fitting with no post connection. The height-adjustable elbow bracket mounts on top of a post, with an extending stem and a pivoting head — use that when the angle change happens at a post; use this when it happens mid-tube.
