Post & Rail Pitch Fencing — Norvale Sport PVCu System

A Clean Pitch Boundary at Entry-Level Cost

The entry-level system. Three PVCu rails create a clean, defined pitch boundary — no mesh infill and no ball retention, but a professional white finish and zero maintenance at the most accessible price in the range. Ideal for community, junior and training ground applications.

✓ FA Step 7 minimum ✓ Community & junior ✓ SGS Certified ✓ 15-Year Warranty ✓ Zero Maintenance ✓ Lowest cost per metre
⚠ Not suitable for FA Steps 1–6 or competitive rugby

Post & rail has no mesh infill and does not satisfy the permanent infilled barrier requirement at FA Steps 1–4, nor the permanent fixed barrier expectation at Steps 5–6. It meets the absolute minimum at Step 7 only. For any club in competitive football above Step 7, or any rugby club with National League ambitions, single mesh or double mesh is the right specification. We would rather tell you that here than quote you for something that fails an inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we upgrade to mesh later?

Yes. All three systems share the same posts, rails and bay centres — the only difference is the infill. Mesh panels clip into the pre-drilled holes in the rails, so a post & rail installation can be upgraded to single or double mesh later without replacing the posts or rails. That said, fitting mesh at installation is cheaper than doing it twice.

What does post & rail cost?

£49 per linear metre supply only, or £77 per metre supplied and installed, both ex VAT. Gates and delivery are itemised separately: £500 for a 1.5m single gate, £1,000 for a 3.0m double, and £500 flat for delivery. It is the lowest cost per metre in the range, and around £4,900 less than double mesh on a standard pitch.

Can we get funding for this fencing?

For clubs at Steps 1–6 of the National League System and Tiers 1–4 of the Women's Football Pyramid, the Premier League Stadium Fund contributes 70% of the cost of a new pitch perimeter barrier, rising to up to 100% where an existing solid brick, breeze block or concrete barrier must be removed or protected. The Fund holds no preferred supplier list. The Football Foundation does not fund pitch perimeter barriers, and at Step 7 and below there is no national grant route. We provide every specification document your application needs, free of charge. Read the full funding guide.

How long does installation take?

For a standard 11-a-side pitch of roughly 350m perimeter, a competent team of four with a mechanical post-hole borer typically completes installation over three days — posts on day one, concrete curing on day two, rails and mesh on day three. Allow a minimum of 24 hours curing before loading the posts. Read the full installation method.

How does this compare to Duralock?

Both are PVCu post and rail systems with mesh infill. Ours uses a 127 × 127mm post concreted into the ground, with bays at 2,500mm centres against 2,000mm on some competitors — fewer posts per pitch and less digging. On price, our supply-only rate sits below Duralock's reseller trade price of £59.80/m and around 14% below their retail list. Every order includes a drill jig for consistent fixing holes on site.
